CA3162: A/D Converters for 3-Digit Display
The CA3162E and CA3162AE are I²L monolithic A/D converters that provide a 3 digit multiplexed BCD output. They are used with the CA3161E BCD-to-Seven-Segment Decoder/Driver and a minimum of external parts to imple- ment a complete 3-digit display. The CA3162AE is identical to the CA3162E except for an extended operating temperature range.

The Integrating A/D Converter (ICL7135)
Integrating A/D converters have two characteristics in common. First, as the name implies, their output represents the integral or average of an input voltage over a fixed period of time. Compared with techniques which require that the input is “frozen” with a sample-and-hold, the integrating converter will give repeatable results in the presence of high frequency noise (relative to the measurement period). A second and equally important characteristic is that they use time to quantize the answer, resulting in extremely small nonlinearity errors and no possibility of missing output codes.

ICL7135: 4 1/2 Digit ADC with Multiplexed BCD Outputs
The Maxim ICL7135 is a high precision monolithic 4 1/2 digit A/D converter. Dual slope conversion reliability is combined with +/-1 in 20000 count accuracy and a 2.0000V full scale capability. It features high impedance differential inputs, nearly ideal differential linearity, true ratiometric operation, auto zero and auto-polarity. The multiplexed BCD outputs and digit drivers provide easy interface to external display drivers like the Maxim ICM7211A. The only other external components needed to make precision DVM/DPMs are a reference and a clock.
The ICL7135 has auto-zero accuracy better than 10μV, zero drift of 0.5μV/*C, input bias current of 10pA max. and rollover error of less than 1 count.

ICL7135: 4 1/2 Digit, BCD Output, A/D Converter
The Intersil ICL7135 precision A/D converter, with its multiplexed BCD output and digit drivers, combines dual-slope conversion reliability with ±1 in 20,000 count accuracy and is ideally suited for the visual display DVM/DPM market. The 2.0000V full scale capability, auto-polarity , and auto-zero are combined with true ratiometric operation, almost ideal differential linearity and true differential input. All necessary active devices are contained on a single TTL IC, with the exception of display drivers, reference, and a clock.

15-Bit, Fast Integrating CMOS A/D Converter
The TC850 is a monolithic CMOS ADC with resolution of 15-bits plus sign. It combines a chopper-stabilized buffer and integrator with a unique multiple-slope integration technique that increases conversion speed. The result is 16 times improvement in speed over previous 15-bit, monolithic integrating ADCs (from 2.5 conversions per second up to 40 per second). Faster conversion speed is especially welcome in systems with human interface, such as digital scales.
Operating from ±5V supplies, the TC850 dissipates only 20 mΩ. The TC850 is packaged in a 40-pin plastic or ceramic dual-in-line package (DIPs) and in a 44-pin plastic leaded chip carrier (PLCC), surface-mount package.
