A buck converter is a step-down DC to DC converter. Its design is similar to the step-up boost converter, and like the boost converter it is a switched-mode power supply that uses two switches (a transistor and a diode) and an inductor and a capacitor.

LTC3549 250mA Low VIN Buck Regulator in 2mm × 3mm DFN
The LTC®3549 is a high efficiency, monolithic synchronous buck regulator using a constant-frequency, current mode architecture. The output voltage is adjusted via an external resistor divider. A fixed switching frequency of 2.25MHz is supported. This switching frequency allows the use of small surface mount inductors and capacitors, including ceramics.

A5973D 2.5 A switch step down switching regulator for automotive applications
The A5973D is a step down monolithic power switching regulator with a minimum switch current limit of 2.5 A so it is able to deliver more than 2 A DC current to the load depending on the application conditions. The output voltage can be set from 1.235 V to 35 V. The high current level is also achieved thanks to an SO8 package with exposed frame, that allows to reduce the Rth(JA) down to approximately 40 °C/W.

A5972D 2A switch step down switching regulator for automotive applications
The A5972D is a step down monolithic power switching regulator with a minimum switch current limit of 2 A so it is able to deliver more than 1.5 A DC current to the load depending on the application conditions. The output voltage can be set from 1.235 V to 35 V. The device uses an internal P-channel D-MOS transistor (with a typical Rdson of 250mΩ) as switching element to minimize the size of the external components.

LTC3410-1.875 2.25MHz, 300mA Synchronous Step-Down Regulator in SC70
The LTC ®3410-1.875 is a high efficiency monolithic synchronous buck regulator using a constant frequency, current mode architecture. Supply current during operation is only 26µA, dropping to <1µA in shutdown. The 2.5V to 5.5V input voltage range makes the LTC3410-1.875 ideally suited for single Li-Ion battery-powered applications. 100% duty cycle provides low dropout operation, extending battery life in portable systems.
